This imaginary botanical was inspired by a vintage illustration of the tropical Autograph Tree (or Clusia Rosea), featuring its unusual seed pod forms. It was painted in a watered down gouache paint, and overlaid with linear detailing in coloured pencil, giving the flowers and leaves an almost three-dimensional quality.
